Sometimes you may already have a book in PDF format and want to upload it to Recustom instead of recreating it from scratch or losing its existing formatting.

On Recustom, PDFs are classified as a type of book, but they work differently from our standard clip-based books.

How are PDFs different from books?

Standard Recustom books are made up of clips that can be mixed and matched to create a customized book. You can add, remove, and reorder clips to customize the book to your needs.

PDFs, on the other hand, are uploaded as a complete PDF file. They retain their original formatting and are not made up of individual clips that can be rearranged. When uploading a PDF, you can add a description, tags, and choose its visibility status.

Because PDFs are not clip-based, public PDFs cannot be customized in the same way that public books and clips can. If you find a public PDF you’d like to use, you can view and download it, but you cannot select individual clips from it or customize its contents.

How do PDFs appear on Recustom?

PDFs appear alongside books in search results. A PDF badge identifies them as PDFs, so you can easily tell the difference between a standard book and a PDF.

You can also find PDFs in your library on the My books tab. Use the PDFs only filter to show only PDFs.

To find PDFs in your Favorites, select Books and then optionally turn on the PDFs only filter.
